Wild Timber Industries strives to make wildtimber.ca usable by people of all abilities and disabilities. We are working to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Our commitment
We are actively working to ensure that wildtimber.ca:
- Can be navigated by keyboard alone, without a mouse.
- Is compatible with common screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- Meets WCAG 2.1 AA colour contrast requirements for all text content.
- Provides meaningful alternative text for all informative images.
- Has a clear and consistent heading hierarchy on every page.
- Includes a skip-to-main-content link on every page to allow keyboard users to bypass the navigation.
- Uses properly labelled form fields with descriptive error messages announced to screen readers.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas where the site does not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA, and we are actively working to resolve them:
- Hero image: The hero image is a decorative background served via a CSS-positioned element on some older browsers. Alternative text is provided on the underlying
<img>element. - Open Graph and social preview tags: Some inner pages were missing Open Graph metadata prior to April 2026 — this has been corrected.
Technical approach
wildtimber.ca is a static HTML/CSS/JavaScript website deployed via Netlify. We use semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA landmark roles, and aria-live regions for dynamic content. We test with keyboard-only navigation and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS).
