Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect personal information you share with Wild Timber Industries.

Effective date: April 24, 2026

Wild Timber Industries ("Wild Timber," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through wildtimber.ca, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.

1. Information we collect

We only collect personal information you choose to give us. Specifically:

  • Quote requests and inquiries. When you submit our Request a Quote form or email us directly, we receive your name, company, email address, phone number, project location, and any details you include in your message.
  • Email correspondence. If you contact us at clayton@wildtimber.ca, we keep your message and contact information for follow-up.

Our quote form does not transmit data to a server. Submitting it opens your own email client with the message pre-filled — your information only leaves your device when you click "Send" in your email client.

2. How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to quote requests and questions about our services.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Communicate about ongoing projects with clients and partners.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and safety obligations applicable to forestry operations in British Columbia and Canada.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use it for marketing or advertising.

3. Sharing your information

We share personal information only when necessary, and only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate (for example, our email provider). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
  • Project partners — for example, the Tahltan or Nisga'a Nations, subcontractors, or clients — when sharing is necessary to deliver a project you have engaged us for.
  • Authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect safety.

4. Cookies and analytics

wildtimber.ca does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or marketing cookies. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address as part of serving the fonts. If you'd prefer not to load Google-hosted resources, browser extensions like uBlock Origin or NoScript can block them.

5. Data retention

We keep quote requests and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to fulfill any resulting project, plus a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal, tax, and contractual obligations — typically up to seven years. After that, we delete or anonymize the records.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information from loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request that we delete your personal information, subject to our legal obligations to retain it.
  • Withdraw consent for us to use your information, where consent is the legal basis.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you may also have rights under the GDPR or equivalent — including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email clayton@wildtimber.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Our services are aimed at businesses and government clients. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above will reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
